Thompson victory in Southport

Congratulations to James Thompson who won his age group (under 12)race yesterday at the Southport cycle festival inter schools competition. James led from the start and crossed the finish line half a lap ahead of the second placed rider. And in the race for all category winners James came a very close third behind two riders two years older than himself. James has done well considering he only came to his first Go-ride session at L.S.P. six weeks ago on a mountain bike, and shortly after asked if he could enter races. Thanks to John Stanistreet who has loaned James a road bike for the summer to enable him to race in the Wednesday league at L.S.P. and come out on Sunday club runs.
