TEENAGER Guy Crosbie will be picking up the Liverpool Echo Star Trophy before the start of the Eddie Soens race this Saturday.
The 18-year-old, who only took up cycling less than a year ago, managed to cling on to his three points throughout the season to share the Liverpool Echo Star Trophy Junior Competition's £100 prize with Liverpool Century's Jamie Shirlaw.
Crosbie picked up his first two points of the season at his club's own circuit race held at Litherland Sports Park on April 29, 2009, before claiming another point during Prescot Eagle's race on the same circuit back in August.
Meanwhile, Shirlaw claimed three points during the very same Prescot Eagles race to bring him level with the Merc youngster.
Crosbie has enjoyed a fantastic first season and has moved up from a fourth category junior to third cat.
Guy will be presented with his joint award before the start of this year's Eddie Soens Memorial Race, which will be held at Aintree Racecourse on Saturday, March 6, starting at 9.30am.
Members of Liverpool Mercury (Dolan) are asked to attend and show their support for the youngster.
